Thirty Whyalla Golfers headed off to Cleve for this year’s Pennants competition against combined Eyre regional team from Kimba, Cleve and Tumby Bay.
A little windy at first the day ended up fine, but a lack of rain in the region was sadly obvious and resulted in a course with lots of run. Putting on scrapes also took a few holes to adapt to for the Whyalla team.
Spirited match play saw the combined team with 14 wins, Whyalla with 11 and 5 squares. The hospitality was great and all agreed the day was enjoyable and left us enthusiastic about next year’s return challenge.
