Long-time member (40 years +) Charlie Agett has become the club’s most recent LIFE MEMBER. Congratulations Charlie.
Charlie has been involved in the club for many of those years collecting sponsors, organising pennant teams, preparing the golf programme, following up competitors for internal competitions, and engaging in what is needed for the successful competitive running of the club.
Charlie can be seen most Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons inputting scores and presenting competition winners with their awards. Committee members come and go – Charlie just keeps on with the job in his quiet efficient manner.
Charlie has been a real asset when it comes to Opens, Ladies special events and all other internal events that require much work. He has put his own golf aside on many occasions, to make sure that major events are run smoothly and efficiently.
Charlie also has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to the “Rules of Golf” and competitions and is often called upon to clarify situations.
It was indicated by many club members that Charlie was the ultimate nomination for Life Membership. He is one member who holds our competitions together, and maintains the integrity of the club and our competitions.
Thanks to Val Callaghan for her nomination of Charlie and supplied information.

A most well deserved Life Membership for a true Clubman & Volunteer.
